A holiday wedding is a great time to combine the festivities of the season with one's holy day of matrimony. Holiday weddings make sense because they occur during the times of year where one’s family and friends naturally come together. This means that nearly everyone that a couple loves is able to come to the wedding. It makes things very convenient. The holidays are also typically a time of joy, laughter and celebration. People are already in the mood to celebrate and your wedding provides even more reason.

Holiday weddings typically take place during of the major holidays, i.e., Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Valentine's Day. Some people even choose to get married during Halloween. Which holiday a couple chooses to get married during, depends on a couple of factors. Some factors include, determining which holiday the greatest number of family members and friends naturally congregate around, whether or not a particular holiday holds special meaning.  If a couple is especially romantic, they may opt to get married during Valentine's Day.  If Christmas is a couple’s favorite holiday, than it might make sense to have the wedding during Christmas.

Holiday weddings are also a great time to incorporate some special activities. For example, if a couple chooses to have their wedding during Christmas time, the couple might have guests, family and friends get together and decorate the couple’s first Christmas tree. Everyone should bring an ornament with some sort of significance and place it on the tree.  This way the couple’s first Christmas tree can be decorated by the people they love and care for the most. If a couple chooses to have their wedding during Thanksgiving, guests can take turns explaining why the bride and groom should be thankful for each other.  A holiday wedding taking place around New Year's Eve might feature a reception with snazzy appetizers, champagne and a jazz band.

Getting married during the holidays is a great opportunity to incorporate very important and meaningful events.  Because many couple’s family and friends have already congregated for the holiday, it makes a wedding this time of year, convenient for those individuals to attend the wedding. Holidays are also generally a fun, festive time and people will be doubly excited to celebrate a couple’s new life together.
