Shopping Wedding Venues: Picking the Perfect Location

Tags: ideas, tools, budget, themes

Every bride and groom has a different idea of where the perfect wedding would take place. Some dream of having their wedding in a church, others dream of being married outdoors on a mountain top somewhere, others still dream of being wed on the beach, in a casino, or in the backyard of their childhood home. There are many beautiful places where people think of getting married, but what is the right place for you? If money was of no consequence where would you ideally get married?

When a couple becomes engaged they should start thinking about the location of their wedding even if they are not ready to set a date. Booking a location for a ceremony or reception often needs to be done months if not years in advance, so the couple will want to start considering where they would like to get married right away. Shopping for the right wedding venue can take some time and what may have seemed like a great idea in the beginning may not actually work out for budgetary or timing reasons. It is important for a couple to begin shopping and really look at all of their options when they become engaged.

Couples should start by looking at their ideal wedding location. This may include a church, banquette halls, casinos, somewhere outdoors such as mountains or a beach, or another location. Looking at all of these options will allow the bride and groom to really see the places in a different light and consider if it will accommodate their needs and all of their guests and their needs well. Many times getting on location and looking at a place up close and personal will turn the couple off from what they thought was a great idea.

May couples will get frustrated when they are shopping for the right wedding location, but when the couple really looks at what they need they’ll know the right place when they find it. Some of the things that the couple may want to think about include whether or not they want to have the ceremony and reception in the same place, whether they need to accommodate guests, how many guests their will be in attendance, and what they would like to feed their guests and how they will entertain them. When the couple comes up with all of the things that they want and need from a wedding location they may be able to eliminate many of the venues straight away. Sitting down together and coming up with the necessary criteria for a wedding and reception location will save everyone a lot of time and stress.
