also the type of photography that they’ll want in their wedding
albums. Some couples really like photographers to take pictures of
them that are very posed and formal while others like pictures that
are more candid and capture the natural movements and personalities
of people. Many people don’t know that they have a preference about
wedding photography, and that is why it is a good idea to do some
looking around and some research before you book your photographer.A great way to learn about what type of wedding photography you
like best is to visit a few photographers in your area. Many
photographers welcome couples to come into their studios and simply
look at their portfolios. This allows the couple to get a feel for
what the photographer does to see if his or her style matches the
style of the couple. As a couple you should visit at least two or
three different photographers and flip through as many of their
albums as possible.
When you do visit the wedding photography studios you should pay
attention to what type of pictures you find the most appealing. Do
you like the pictures where the subjects are all very posed or you
do you like something more relaxed but not quite candid? Do you
enjoy the candid shots the best? Simply look at each album and keep
a mental tally of what appeals to you, and show your partner what
appeals to you, and then come together and discuss what you did and
did not like.
The great thing about most photographers is that they are very
versatile. If you tell them that you would like some posed shots of
yourselves as well as some of the wedding party they can do that.
If you would also like some candid shots they will likely be able to
do that, as well. Some professionals have a specialty, such as very
posed or candid shots, and you should ask these questions when you
visit an individual to ensure that you pair up with photographers
who will give you what you want.
When you do find photographers that you like you should show them
specific shots that you really like. This will give them an idea of
what you are looking for so they can take pictures the way you want
them. Good wedding photographers will follow your direction and
give you exactly what you want, so be sure that you do your homework
and then convey your interests to the photographer of your choice.
