Generally speaking, music is a huge party of a wedding not only at
the ceremony but also at the reception. Many brides and grooms like
to keep their musical selections traditional while others like to
change it up a bit and infuse the music with their own style and
personality. There are many different options out there for couples
to choose from, allowing them to accent their big day with the right
music.
Couples often need help choosing music for their ceremony. The
reason for this is that most couples do not realize how much music
may actually be needed after the bride comes down the aisle. Many
brides choose the traditional wedding march or cannon while others
still choose more original songs. After this song there may need to
be music while the bride and groom light their unity candle and if
they are going to take communion there may need to be music here,
too. Other couples like for there to be wedding played as they walk
down the aisle together at the end of the ceremony while they greet
their guests.
After choosing music for the wedding ceremony the couple will also
want to choose music for their reception. Music is usually offered
by a band or DJ’s, and the couple usually knows which one appeals to
them more. There are usually many DJ’s in any given area that will
provide wedding music for the couple, working with them to ensure
that they have their favorite songs played and any genres that they
may favor. The DJ can ensure that the couple has their first dance
to the appropriate songs as well as any parent dances to the songs
of their choice.
Bands bring something different to the wedding reception than a DJ.
There are many bands out there that specialize in playing at
weddings and many of them sing or simply offer instrumental music
for the course of the dinner. Most couples will need to interview a
few bands before they settle on the band that can offer them the
best music selection for their tastes as well as for their guest’s
tastes.
Whether a band or a DJ is chosen many couples may choose to take
some dance lessons. Dance lessons often give the couple the
confidence they need to get out there and really dance like no one
is watching for their first dance. You only get that first dance
once and to be able to dance well through that song is priceless.
Music not only provides the couple with a chance to infuse the
reception and ceremony with their personality, it also provides
entertainment for guests, giving them the opportunity to dance the
night away.
