Weddings involve a lot of communication and most of this is done
through the mail in the way announcements and invitations. Because
most or all of the communication related to your wedding is done
through the mail you want to be sure that you choose the right
announcements, invitations, and invitations supplies.
Choosing announcements should be the job of both the bride and the
groom. There are a lot of different options out there and both
people should be able to weigh in on how they would like to spread
the word of their engagement. Announcements can be simple and state
that the couple has been engaged or it can be more inclusive and
ornate announcing the engagement, a wedding date, and even inviting
the recipients of the announcements to an engagement party.
After announcements have been sent out, the couple will need to team
up to choose wedding invitations to be sent out in advance of the
wedding. Wedding invitations come in all shapes, sizes, and on a
variety of papers. Many couples find it very helpful to receive free
samples from different invitation companies. The samples will allow
the couple to see some invitations that have been made up close and
personal, to decide if they are teaming with the right company.
When the couple has chosen their invitations they will need to
consider invitation wording. Every couple has a different situation
that will warrant different wording and because of this each couple
may need some help deciding which word is right for them. There are
many books on the market that can help the average couple determine
what the appropriate working for their invitations is. Taking some
time to figure out the best wording is completely normal and couples
should never feel rushed in this stage of the game.
After the couple has ordered their wedding invitations they may want
to think about having wedding programs printed up as well. Programs
simply give a play by play of the wedding ceremony complete with
songs that will be played, who the groomsmen and bridesmaids are,
and directions to or information about the reception after the
ceremony. Wedding programs can usually be printed by the same
company as the invitations and can often be sought at a discount if
you also order invitations and announcements.
To complete the purchase of the wedding invitations, the bride and
the groom may want to consider hiring someone who knows calligraphy
to address the envelopes to their guests. This is a nice touch that
will go a long way with those who receive the invitations. You’ll
have to pay for this service, but after all of the thought and work
that goes into choosing your invitations why detract from their
beauty by simply writing on the envelopes with a ball point pen? The
only thing that could make the process more complete is by signing
up with RSVP services that will do the work for you.
