Choosing The Right Wedding Flowers For Your Big Day

The choice of wedding flowers for a bride and groom's upcoming nuptials will be very important to the overall mood and theme of the wedding.  However, the couple must take into account a variety of things. Some of these things include the couple’s personal taste, the wedding season and probably most importantly, their wedding budget. One’s budget will determine if there are a lot wedding flowers or a little. However, the average amount of money spent on wedding flowers is about 8% of the wedding budget. This includes everything from the wedding bouquets to the decorations in the church or wedding hall and for the reception.

For those concerned about cost, there are various ways to purchase wedding flowers for less One alternative is to decrease the amount of bridesmaids in the ceremony. This will mean less bouquet, which means more money saved.  A couple can also reduce the amount of individuals who attend the reception. This will require fewer floral arrangements as centerpieces at the reception. Also only choose flowers that are in season. Flowers are always cheaper when they are in season and there are easier to attain.

To keep things affordable, a couple may also want to be careful regarding the types of flowers they choose to use in their ceremony. Less expensive flowers can be just as beautiful as the more expensive ones, when arranged correctly. Flowers to avoid if you have a strict budget, unless you can get a great deal include, lily of the valleys, calla lilys, orchids and gardenias. Flowers which tend to be a bit more affordable include daisies, roses, carnations and orange blossoms.

A couple should also consider having an outdoor wedding where there are already plenty of flowers. A natural floral backdrop would eliminate the need to decorate the wedding venue with expensive floral arrangements.

Your best ally when it comes to wedding flowers is a good florist. A good florist can help you correctly estimate the cost of the flowers. He or she can also provide you with ideas and tips on how to stay budget friendly, but to still  have beautiful arrangements. It will be important for a couple  to do a little research before choosing a florist. Visit a few, and ask to see pictures of wedding that they have worked on before. Also, spend time visiting the shop, see if you like the arrangements in the store. Does the store look neat and organized? Ask for references. This will help ensure the couple that they will actually receive what they are being promised.
