Wedding Centerpieces that Multi-task

Tags: decorations, flowers, ideas

If you are planning a wedding on a budget you might be thinking that you need to cut out some of the decorative elements of your wedding, but this isn’t necessarily true. You can choose or create decorations that will perform more than one function. A great way to do this is by choosing wedding centerpieces that have the ability to multitask. This can be done in a variety of ways so that you can get the most out of each of your decorations.

One of the best ways to have your wedding centerpieces multitask is to use them at the wedding ceremony as well. If you will be having your ceremony in one location and your reception in another you can use the decorations in both places. When the wedding ceremony is over you can designate one of the wedding party members to take the decorations and move them to the reception site. This will allow you to use the same decorations in both places, which can effectively save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Many of the decorations that are used at wedding ceremonies are only seen for a short while and then they are forgotten. Why not get all of the use out of these items as possible?

Another great way to have wedding centerpieces multitask is to have the décor double as wedding favors. Small potted plants grouped together in the middle of a reception table will look beautiful and then each guest can take their potted plant with them when they leave. This will cost a lot less than a lot of more formal or custom centerpieces and for just a couple dollars per potted flower you’ll take care of the décor for the reception as well as the favors for the guests. You cannot beat this price and your guests will appreciate the gesture and most won’t realize that you actually cut corners in this way!

As you can see, there are some great ways to get all of the décor that you need without breaking the bank. Favors and flowers are often some of the most expensive elements of a wedding, but they don’t have to be. You simply have to be creative and think outside the box a bit. Many people are able to combine reception décor, wedding favors, and cake or dessert into one item, as well! Get creative and remember that you don’t have to do things the way other people have or the way they are seen in a magazine. It’s your wedding, feel free to get creative in an attempt to save money and just have things done your way.
