Having the food provided by the restaurant allows the bride and groom to simply enjoy the day and their guests instead of worry about where the food is, how to keep it warm, and how to serve it. Many restaurants will actually bring their food to you if you are having your reception outdoors or in a separate location.

Caterers are another great option. If you plan to have your reception in a hotel ballroom or in an area that is offsite a caterer can provide you with all of the food and food services that you need to feed your guests great food without the stress. Caterers can help you choose foods that are sure to please and will also make sure that all of the items stay at the proper temperatures so that guests will enjoy their food.

Many restaurants and caterers will also offer bar services for an additional charge. Many couples choose to offer an open bar for a portion of the event while others want only a pay bar. Having bar services is a great idea because the bar tender can serve all of the drinks that your guests want, but they can also be sure that no one gets too much to drink, especially if guests will be traveling after the reception. Bar services are great for no other reason than for a champagne toast at the wedding! The bride and the groom can determine if they can afford to have an open bar for a portion of the time or if they would rather keeps things to a cash bar.

Having the right food at a wedding reception is vital. Couples should remember that not everyone has the same tastes as they do so they should have at least two different options to choose from, such as a chicken and a beef meal and also have plenty meatless sides should someone be a vegetarian. Caterers as well as restaurants can often advise a couple on some great options that are sure to please all of the reception guests.
