Every bride dreams of her wedding day and when she is planning
her wedding, all of the options may overwhelm her. Shopping for
wedding dresses first before planning every other element of the
wedding is a great idea because bridal gowns really do determine how

Choosing Bridal Wear for the Bridal Party
After the bride has chosen her gown, she should start considering
what the rest of the bridal party will wear. Many brides love to
share this special time with their mother, so shopping for mother of
the bride dresses may be a great place to start. Just as the bride
should look good on her wedding day, her mother should also look
great. It is customary for the mother of the bride to wear a
beautiful dress that fits the theme or wedding colors but stands out
from the rest of the wedding party. Mother of the bride dresses
often feature beading, lacework, or a unique design that will allow
her to shine, but not outshine, her daughter.
After choosing the dress that her mother will wear, the bride may
want to consider bridesmaid’s dresses. Many brides choose the same
dresses for each of their bridesmaids that are the wedding colors
while other brides like each of her bridesmaids to wear the same
color but a different style. It is a good idea for a bride either to
go shopping with her bridesmaids for the dresses or to consider the
different shapes and sizes that all of the women may be. What may
look great on a tall bridesmaid may not look great on someone who is
shorter and vice versa.
After this the bride and the groom will want to work together to
choose tuxedos. Most men will not admit it, but a tuxedo is just as
important as bridal gowns are to women. There are many different
styles of tuxedos to choose from including different colors, pin
stripes and no pin stripes, shirts with ties and collars, and those
with no collars. Cover bunds and vests are also options and these
are usually matched to the color of the bridesmaid’s dresses. Just
as the bride needs to consider the different sizes and shapes of her
bridesmaids, the bride and the groom need to consider the different
sizes and shapes of their groomsmen and choose something that will
suit everyone, well.
Last but not least, the bride will want to consider flower girl
dresses and ring bearer suits. These come in varying styles and
colors and many times the bride chooses a dress for the flower girl
that is much like her own and then chooses a suit for the ring
bearer that matches the girls dress nicely. The kids are always a
great source of attention so they should look as great as everyone
else!
